Assist with shipping and receiving duties for some raw material and finished or in-process components.
Coordinates vendor pick-ups or deliveries. Insures properly packaged delivery of finished goods.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Count, weight and check some incoming material and supplies.
- Liaison for some shipping carriers
- Determine correct amount of postage and shipping requirements.
- Labeling for all types of packages
- Manages most types of shipping packages and related packing material (ordering and storage)
- Selects proper type and size of shipping container/crates and if skid are needed for products varying in size and weight.
- Computer documentation of all items/products shipped and received.
- Issue purchase orders when necessary.
- Receive some product from outside services and verifying Quantity and Documentation on all items.
- Notify proper authorities/positions of any discrepancies found.
- Assist with expedition of all received items to proper locations.
- Acquiring corrected certification when necessary
- Arranging special carrier pick-ups
- Assist with completion of “Bill of Lading” for shipments.
- Maintains employee uniforms (ordering, repairing, and returning unused uniforms)
- Planning of vehicle maintenance and appropriations
- License to operate the forklift for moving heavy loads.
- Transportation of customer product to and from outside vendor for out Plant services when required.
- Work with minimal intervention or supervision.
- Complies with work rules including those pertaining to safety, health, quality system, and Viant Quality Management System
