Job Summary
Cirrus Aircraft is currently seeking a Material & Process Technician to join our material fabrication and testing team.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
The M&P Technician is responsible for execution of aerospace composite materials testing, evaluation, and process evaluation, as well as basic data analysis. This Level 3 Technician role will also provide input into test plan creation and testing methodologies, and will be a pivotal part of the Cirrus Materials & Processes Structures Team.

  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Team player, ability to work with Tech's, Engineers, and Scientists, and ability to pivot in support of high priority projects
  • Ability to layup, bond, and assemble composite materials using a variety of mediums including prepregs and wet layup, and different material types including carbon fiber, fiberglass, foams, and adhesives
  • Proficient in the use of specifications, drawings, and verbal instructions to build and fabricate composite test panels
  • Strong creative mind that excels at solving problems and can successfully collaborate with a wide audience during the development of new technologies and designs
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn to use laboratory equipment such as load-frames, strain gauges, extensometers, microscopes, cure ovens, fume hoods, composite layup tooling, etc.
  • Follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment, including use of appropriate protective equipment and identification of potential safety concerns

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred - Industry experience and / or certifications in the layup of fiber-filled composite materials
  • Desired - Previous experience in a mechanical and / or chemical testing lab
  • Desired - Precision measurement / GD&T experience, and / or experience with quality control processes and paperwork
  • Required Experience at various Technician Levels: M&P Tech 1 - 1 yr minimum or recent H.S graduate. M&P Tech 2 - 2 yrs minimum test lab experience. M&P Tech 3 - 4 yrs minimum test lab experience. Current aviation industry employees will be evaluated based on overall experience
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Dependability: Responsiveness to management direction; Diligence in completing tasks on time or proposing an alternate plan; openness to additional hours when necessary.
