About this Position:
Lead paint materials development (Pretreat, sealant, and paint coatings) from R&D (Research and Development) to production application through strategic planning and execution to achieve product specifications and key SEQDCM metrics to exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities include:
- Project planning and implementation. PDAS spec confirmation for repeatability. Completion of Saibo testing by timing set forth in new color development flow.
- Material Budget and cost analysis. Complete monthly budget with gap analysis present to paint cost associate. Apply PDCA to gaps to stay within cost control parameters.
- Material ordering and inventory. Weekly inventory report to plant environmental for usage. Monthly roll up of material usage and order materials for next month based on production schedule and usage.
- Production material monitoring. Recommend adjustments to application group to keep color, film, performance, and appearance in spec handed down by ADC or GO for new BEV production models. Follow up on Q group film builds adjusting for out of tolerance films while keeping color within TDK spec.
- Material group support. Support in all color harmony issues, material related defects, and appearance spec controls using PDCA. Reporting to Department and Plant as called out by trigger reporting procedure.
Who we are seeking:
Required Work Experience:
- 0-6 years based on education.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or equivalent relevant experience (6 years).
Desired skills:
- Complex problem analysis skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word).
Additional Position Factors:
- Ability to travel, both domestic and international
- 5-10 hours of overtime per week possible
- Weekend and Holiday work may be required
- 50/50% Standing vs. sitting
- Shutdown work may be required
