About this Position:
Lead/Drive factory and vendor characteristic improvements related to materials by analysing regional data and documenting production materials/processes through benchmarking and best practice sharing. Provide Regional (RO) viewpoint for Local (LO) and Global (GO) strategies, New Model (NM) development, lead project development/execution of regional initiatives/business plan and specification/materials confirmation.
Responsibilities include:
- List the key accountabilities that must be carried out to fulfil the job purpose.
- Lead Characteristics Analysis - Data analysis, benchmarking, best practice sharing, quality assurance visits
- Drive correlation between LO/RO/GO strategy and NM development to influence leadership direction setting/strategic goals, project evaluations through E-plan, capacity/allocation studies and business plan (BP) themes
- Analyze and implement solutions based on Production Engineering Work Orders (PEWO) through the development and evaluation of the engineering concept sheets (ECS), payback calculations, and environmental documents
- Lead and complete complex study activity, material renewal strategies & data request activity from LO/GO
- Responsible for new material/process studies to understand characteristic impact, testing requirements, investment review and material allocations
Who we are seeking:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Material or Chemical Engineering, Chemist Preferred); or equivalent relevant experience
- 8-15 years of relevant engineering work experience (focused on the Material category)
- Past project leadership experience (New Model, Business Plan, Renewal/Innovation, New Material Introduction)
- Knowledge and experience within the Honda business planning process
- Strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively both with customers and internal project teams
- Business acumen in a material environment
- Demonstrated material specific expertise
