Job Description
FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for ensuring all shipment paperwork is accurate and adheres to the facilities Radioactive Materials License and RCRA permit, as applicable. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
DUTIES :
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Review all incoming customer shipment information to ensure adherence to the facilities Radioactive Materials License and RCRA permit, as applicable.
· Customer interface for online profile issues.
· Enter all applicable incoming shipment information into the Waste Tracking Database.
· Assist facility shipper with the development of shipment packages, as required.
· Perform routine audits of the storage areas to ensure tracking information is accurate; perform corrections as needed.
· Perform Low Level and Mixed Waste physical inventory management.
· Process/manage waste tracking transfers.
· Work with Shipper to become backup shipper; build disposal packages (shipments) for Shipper.
· Team with Work Control Manager to develop MW Work Authorizations/LLOP104 work packages.
· Attend safety meetings and training, as required.
· Radiological safety training; 24hr Hazardous Materials Training required.
· Support other departments when needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily working in an office-type environment but occasionally working in an industrial-type work environment where hot and cold conditions could apply. Occasionally working outside in all weather conditions while performing field work. Facility/field work includes the potential for exposure to radiation, noise, dust, hot and cold temperatures and chemicals.
Requirements:· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Two years of experience in the treatment/management of Low-Level Radioactive and/or Mixed Waste preferred.
· Familiarity with all aspects of plant operations including low level and mixed waste operations as well as the administrative/manifesting aspects of the business.
· Proficiency with various computer programs including MS Excel and Word.
· Ability to be self-motivated and effectively communicate in a clear and accurate manner, both verbally and written.
· Familiarity with the Radioactive Material Licenses, air permits, RCRA permit and operational procedures, as required.
