Job Description
A drilling fluids Material Handler is responsible for mixing drilling fluids according to procedure and ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of operations by properly handling and storing materials used in the production of drilling fluids and its additives.
The key responsibilities of a drilling fluids Material Handler may include:
1. Material Management: Maintaining the inventory of raw materials, chemicals, and additives used in the production of drilling fluids. This includes shipping, receiving, storing, and tracking materials to ensure availability for production.
2. Material Handling: Safely and efficiently handling and transporting materials within the plant and warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts or other machinery, and following proper handling procedures.
3. Production Support: Assisting in the production process by mixing fluids according to procedure.
4. Quality Control: Conducting regular checks and inspections to ensure the quality and consistency of materials being used in the production of drilling fluids. This may include sampling, testing, and recording data as required.
5. Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining equipment used in the handling and transfer of materials, such as pumps, blowers, compressors, forklifts...etc.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment. This includes proper handling of materials and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
7. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of materials received and used, as well as preparing reports as required. This includes documenting material usage, inventory levels, and any incidents or issues that arise.
8. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with all personnel to ensure proper coordination and communication regarding material requirements and production needs.
9. Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
A drilling fluids Material Handler should have a good understanding of material handling techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols. They should also possess strong organizational and communication skills to effectively manage materials and collaborate with team members. Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are also important qualities for this role.
