Material Handler I

RTD Beverage Company is a family-owned manufacturer specializing in ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages. Located in Covington, LA, we bottle and distribute evamor, an 8.8-9.1 pH Alkaline Artesianwater.

Our Material Handlers are responsible for safely operating forklift equipment within the manufacturing facility and distribution center ensuring that quality products are received, produced, and shipped in a timely manner.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5:00pm. Qualified candidates must have the ability to work on Fridays as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Operates forklift equipment safely and efficiently to receive, handles, and stores product in accordance with HACCP and GMP standards
• Performs vehicle safety checks and reports discrepancies to supervisor
• Ensures all equipment is stored at the end of shift
• Utilizes the scanning system to create accurate locations and perform accurate inventory transactions
• Inspects inbound materials and products for damages, defects, and discrepancies; Promptly reports any issues to Quality and Leadership
• Responsible for monthly inventory and cycle counting of receiving area
• Learns and maintains customer standards for product specifications and acceptable quality
• Reads and follows instructions regarding daily expectations, requirements, or specifications
• Reports any product deficiencies, food or safety concerns to supervisor
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping pallet, warehouse and workstation areas neat, cleaning up aisles, picking up leftover pallets, sweeping the floors and keeping exits clear and free from obstructions
• Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person; reports any injury, accident and/or unsafe condition to supervisor immediately
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of forklift and/or warehouse experience
• Technical skills include the basic ability to use a scan gun, forklift certified or willingness to become certified, basic math and inventory / cycle counting skills
• Interpersonal skills include good verbal and written communication, good time management skills and the ability to follow rules and directions
• Leadership skills include a positive attitude, being a team player and self-leadership
