Job Description
As a warehouse Material Handler, you will process incoming and outgoing commercial construction materials. The ideal candidate will have recent experience working in commercial construction wholesale parts and materials. The schedule for the Material Handler is Saturday to Wednesday 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Receive, store and distribute commercial construction materials, tools, and equipment within the warehouse
- Verify and maintain records of incoming, outbound shipments, and will-call orders
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets using appropriate equipment
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Perform inventory counts and replenish stock
- Deliver or retrieve materials as needed using company vehicles
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
- Ensure safety and department compliance are practiced at all times
- Other duties and responsibilities assigned as needed to support the operations of the department
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years' material handling experience preferably within a construction wholesale distribution environment
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately record information
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs) regularly during the shift
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving report
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- This position requires computer literacy with use of cell phone communication, mobile email and MS Office
