Tesla Manufacturing Engineering has the important role of designing “The Machine that builds the Machine”. We work with the cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production, Sustaining, and Supply Chain) throughout the entire lifecycle of a product (from initial design through prototype development and into full production) to develop high quality and efficient manufacturing equipment and processes that will produce the power electronics that drive our cars and energy products. The role of the Material Handler / NPI Technician is to support the PCBA team in producing world-class Power Electronics Boards

What You’ll Do
- Material receiving utilizing proper practices for ESD (Electrostatic Sensitive Devices) and MSD (Moisture Sensitive Devices)
- Register, label and store materials into Tesla databank
- Perform inventory count
- Support the manufacturing engineering team to setup the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) line by assembly components into appropriate feeders and loading them on the machines
- Operate SMT equipment (Printers, Placers and Automated inspection machines)
- Support Maintenance Technicians on the preventive maintenance of the SMT equipment
- Interact daily with Manufacturing Engineers to communicate results and receive tasks
What You’ll Bring
- At least 1 year of Surface Mount Technology experience
- AS in a technical topic or high school diploma with 3+ years pertinent experience in manufacturing
- Knowledgeable about production quality metrics
- Exemplary written communication and technical report writing skills
- Experience with manual machining and other fabrication processes
- Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
- Mastery of Word and Excel
- Able to problem solve and work with minimal supervision toward a stated goal
- Experience with electronic manufacturing
- Training/certification on IPC, ESD, MSL and/or 5S
