Material Handler

This position is responsible for processing materials by performing the duties involved in receiving, stocking, and/or shipping materials/supplies.  Operates material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.   This position works under direct supervision.

• Load, unload, and stock materials and finished goods using a forklift, reach truck, pallet jack or similar
• Process electronic receipts via online system
• Ship materials to our facilities and other locations as necessary
• Transload containers so goods can continue to their destination
• Label product boxes as required, following commercial and regulatory requirements
• Create material tickets to identify pallets
• Repalletize and shrink-wrap pallets as needed
• Supports receiving by verifying conformance to invoices and stocking all received components on the appropriate shelf location
• Verifies and maintains product identification and count
• Prepares inventory records and investigates discrepancies in stock counts
• Performs weigh counts for materials and stores them as necessary
• Obtains, moves, sorts and packages products and materials

• Must have the ability to earn motorized material handling equipment license
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
• Understanding of basic math skills – adding, subtracting, and measuring
• Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to use judgement related to identifying potential safety hazards

Physical Demands

• This position requires 20% clerical and planning and 80% material handling, production assembly machine operations, and/or walking and assisting production employees
• Foot protection may have to be worn
• Lifting of weights up to 30 pounds may occur regularly, with a potential for lifting weights of up to 45 pounds on an occasional basis
• There is potential exposure to extreme temperatures

**This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position**

• High School education or GED preferred.
• Minimum three (3) months related experience
• Forklift experience desired, or willingness to learn forklift operation
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems
