Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 8:00am - 5:30pm (1 hour flex time before/after start time)

Powerplant Engineer develops and implements safety, reliability, and airworthiness policies, standards, and procedures for the UPS Air Fleet. The position requires experience with aircraft large commercial gas turbine engines, federal regulations, development of modifications/repairs, project planning and project management. Engineers ensure engineering practices and procedures comply with government aviation regulations, and develop cost-effective policies, standards, and recommendations that meet company aircraft specifications and cooperates with aircraft manufacturers to increase airframe and component dependability and reduce maintenance costs.
Responsibilities:
Engine performance trending and troubleshooting recommendations.
Evaluates engine vendor repair documents to ensure proper data is provided to authorize the repair.
Works with non-Engineering support groups to evaluate aircraft maintenance or reliability issues.
Works with engine and component manufactures to develop solutions to UPS fleet and engine repair issues.
Prepares Engineering Orders to implement repairs or alterations to UPS aircraft, engines, or components.
Prepares Engineering Orders to implement Airworthiness Directives.
Prepares Engineering Reports to provide engineering analysis conclusions to support Engineering Projects.
Prepares Engineering Substantiation Forms to document acceptable data for UPS developed minor repairs and alterations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent
Basic understanding of jet engine design, repair and overhaul.
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and FAA Guidance.
2-3 years Aircraft Engineering experience
Interpersonal Skills:
Be able to clearly communicate complex technical issues in a concise manner both written and verbal. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize project workloads to meet deadlines.
Federal Aviation Administration required Drug Testing Information (FAA):
