TheMaterial Control Supervisorposition supports the Operational Asset Management Division by providing supervision of staff responsible for the operation of the Airport’s Maintenance warehouse and inventory control function.

Hiring Range: 

  • Maximum = Based on qualifications
  • Minimum = $58,026.92

Education and Experience

  • Education
    • Required: Associate degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a similar field OR equivalent relevant work experience
    • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a similar field
  • Experience
    • Required: 5 years of experience in a warehouse/Material Control position supporting maintenance or a combination of warehouse/Material Controls and government procurement operations functions
    • Preferred: Candidates with 2 years of experience supervising the work of others as well as experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software

 Licenses or Certifications

  • Required: 
    • Valid NC Driver's License
    • OSHA Forklift Certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date
  • Preferred:
    • Certificate in warehouse management, inventory management or similar desired

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

• Ensures parts information is kept current in CMMS. Checks CMMS daily for material requests and approved purchase orders. Work with the Director of Fields, Facilities Fleet Manager, and Fuel Managers to maintain and set minimum/maximum levels of parts and materials.
• Receives deliveries and stores materials in the proper warehouse/storeroom areas. Works with vendors to coordinate returns and resolve shipment discrepancies. Receives and stores attic stock from construction projects.
• Meets with Maintenance Planners to ensure adequate parts and materials are available for planned work. Stages materials for pick-up by Maintenance personnel on all shifts.
• Maintains proper organization of materials in warehouse and critical parts rooms. Ensures bins are correctly labeled, including bar code if used.
• Assists Procurement Staff in obtaining quotes, entering requisitions utilizing ORACLE, and ordering materials and supplies needed to support the Operational Asset Management Department. Also, assists Procurement in processing invoices for payment and working with vendors to resolve invoice issues.
• Works with leadership and cross-department teams on continuous improvement efforts in the Operational Asset Management division regarding Material Control processes.
• Maintains accurate files and records.
• Maintains general warehouse organization and cleanliness. Disposes of excess, damaged, and obsolete material according to Finance guidelines.
• Performs periodic inventory audits and monthly cycle counts.
• Participates in hiring, training, coaching, and evaluation of subordinates. Assigns and inspects the work of subordinates and ensures required training is completed promptly.
• Ensures staff members properly comply with internal work processes and controls.
• Assists with annual budget preparation.
• Receives and stores recyclable materials and arranges for vendor pick-up.
• Operates forklift and reach truck.
• Supports RDU safety and environmental programs and ensures compliance within area of responsibility.

COMPETENCIES

KNOWLEDGE OF

    • Administration methods and techniques for material purchasing, receipt, issuance, and returns utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System, preferably Hexagon EAM.
    • Basic understanding of maintenance management approaches including preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and planned maintenance.
    • Warehouse/storeroom operations
    • Best practices in maintenance material management State and local public purchasing policies and guidelines
    • Safety regulations, occupational hazards, and related safety precautions related to warehouse operations.
