GCON is looking for a creative Marketing Specialist to join our team! Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role will work closely with the marketing department and cross functionally with business units leading proposal-writing efforts for all market sectors across the company. The primary scope of this position is producing Requests for Qualifications RFQ(s) for construction project opportunities. The additional scope of this role includes executing internal and external communication strategy, with occasional participation in community and industry events.
Responsibilities:
- Opportunities: Identify, Review/Vet, Set-up internal meetings, Assess RFP requirements, work with Construction Directors and other team members to develop pursuit strategy, determine responsibilities, and assign tasks to the team.
- Statement of Qualifications (SOQ's) & Request for Qualifications (RFQ's): Develop and design the layout of proposals and associated graphics using Adobe Creative Suite software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Content Writing: Provide original written content and proof and edit the written RFQ response content of others.
- Create interview strategy: Consult and oversee the presentation design, collateral and coach and prepare team for interview.
- Qualification Assembly: Print and Bind all proposals, manage stock of all material for printing and binding.
- Proposal Database: Maintain proposal database with proposal questions and responses, interview questions, projects, resumes, graphics, etc.
- Social Media: Manage social media calendar and platforms, creating content, posting, and responding to inquiries.
- Newsletter: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect information, draft, and send monthly internal corporate newsletter.
- Miscellaneous tasks: As assigned.
- Location: This role will be performed on site in our Phoenix office.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience.
- Proposal preparation and marketing in the general construction industry is preferred.
- Successful candidate must be able to develop pursuit strategies that successfully meet RFQ requirements while providing engaging content.
- Must have excellent writing skills and a firm grasp of grammar.
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work different personalities and professional styles.
- Must be proficient in the following Software: InDesign; Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel, WordPress.
- Experience managing social media platforms.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
