Job Description
In this role, the right candidate will assist the marketing manager in day-to-day activities including, but not limited to: creating engaging Social Media posts and cultivating relationships with our audience, building our online community, and increasing awareness of our brand and products in both a B2B (Spring Meadow Nursery) and B2C (Proven Winners ColorChoice Shrubs, Full Speed A Hedge) role.
Travel Requirements: as needed for conferences, tradeshows, and professional development.
Due to the collaborative nature of this role, remote work is not feasible.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage Social Media accounts for Proven Winners ColorChoice Shrubs (B2C) and Spring Meadow (B2B)
- Create content and foster engagement for Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.
- Answer consumer gardening questions from Facebook and other Social Media sites
- Moderate and respond to comments on organic and paid posts
- Moderate our Facebook group
- Grow audience annually and seek new opportunities to expand our social presence
- Work with digital Marketing Specialist on Social Media advertising campaigns
- Monitor and respond to comments on paid social campaigns
- Manage and grow our relationships with Social Media influencers
- Monitor and re-share content created by established influencers
- Seek out new influencers for our brand to provide a diversity of voices and locations
- Correspond with and advise influencers on plant choice, plant samples, and project ideas
- Serve as main point of contact for trials
- Work with R&D team and landscape marketing manager to compile lists of past, current, and potential trials
- Follow up with trial sites to ensure results reach us
- Organize trial results for internal use
- Communicate trial results to both trade and consumer audiences
- Assist with other marketing duties as assigned:
- Assist in producing events, including Gold Key, Leaderboard, and other customer meetings
- Speaking to customers and giving webinars about Social Media

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Education - 4 yr. horticulture or related degree or experience in gardening/horticulture, and three to five in journalism, sales, and/or marketing. Writing, organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills.
- Must possess the ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move 20 pounds
Performance Requirements:
- Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations (including but not limited to, Self and Management reviews).
