A Day In the Life as a Marketing Specialist
The primary role of a Marketing Specialist at MidSouth Community FCU is perform marketing and business development functions, assist with the production of advertising, marketing brochures, kits, and other promotional material.
Our Marketing Specialist will manage individual projects and necessary support of other teams and organization initiatives. They will also research, develop, and write the marketing of promotional materials to strategically meet business goals.
This position is led by the Marketing Manager. This department can be a busy environment - updating & distributing ads and collateral across marketing channels, overseeing the Credit Union's logo-branded merchandise items, working with outside vendors, and assisting with coordinating special events.
What Are We Looking For?
If you have worked in a similar or related position and/or have demonstrated knowledge/education of marketing skills such as proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, CMS Platforms, and graphic design - this position may be for you!
In the ever-changing world of marketing, we are looking for someone who is adaptable to change and willing to see a task through from beginning to end. This position may also require work in the evenings and weekends on occasion.
Experience: Three to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree f confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
How is the Work Schedule?
The Marketing Specialist position is a full time role, working typically 40 hours weekly. This position may work evenings and weekends on occasion.
