What Makes Capella Unique?

Capella Space is a highly collaborative team environment, providing an opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the space industry, though no prior space experience is needed. We're looking for people excited about tackling seemingly impossible challenges, learning new skills and concepts, and helping each other achieve success. Our mission and our products are meant to understand the whole world and help everyone in it - regardless of race, creed, or any other distinction. We encourage you to bring your unique perspective to help make us stronger, including applications from those who are traditionally underrepresented in tech. If you like the sound of this position but are not sure if you are the perfect fit, please apply!

About the Role & Team

Capella's Marketing team works at the epicenter of the company within a fun, fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. The team works alongside some of the smartest people in the space sector, from engineers and sales professionals to product specialists and human resources. We're looking for someone equally smart and excited about tackling seemingly impossible challenges, learning new skills and concepts, and helping others achieve "mission success". Our marketing efforts permeate throughout the business and beyond into our resellers, partners and clients. We are fundamental to advancing Capella's brand recognition, revenue and partnership opportunities, all of which are vital contributions to rapidly growing and maturing US start-up.

Capella is seeking an exceptional Marketing Specialist, with a strong and demonstrable track record, to help elevate Capella's marketing efforts as the company continues to grow. We are looking for a personable, creative, agile and original thinker with the ability to proactively support and/or lead a diverse range of marketing initiatives and projects, from day-to-day marketing activities to playing a key role in developing long-term marketing campaigns that have the potential to shape the future of Capella, its products and its brand.

The Marketing Specialist will work alongside marketing colleagues based in the USA and the United Kingdom, helping to execute e.g. go-to-market campaigns (including product marketing); support ideation, development, and execution of web (including social media), print and digital marketing collateral and tradeshows/events. Working within a fast-paced and highly collaborative work environment, the ideal candidate has exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines, matched with concise and timely communication.

The role will be based in our new Louisville (CO, USA) office to enable hybrid working and face-to-face engagement with our core marketing team, however we also encourage remote working (should this be of interest) to help support our international colleagues, whilst maintaining a positive work-life balance.

Do you have what it takes to become Capella's next marketing superstar?

Role Responsibilities

  • Support go-to-market campaigns that introduce novel satellite imagery products and services to core markets (including support for competitive analysis, developing new marketing material and customer communications).
  • Support the design, copy drafting and execution of web (including social media), print, and digital marketing collateral, with collaboration and input from our marketing and product teams.
  • Help ensure that Capella's creative assets are consistent and have provenance back to our core brand and company culture.
  • Support/lead multiple projects from conception to completion, to strict and competing deadlines.
  • Support and attend tradeshows and events (as required; occasional travel).
  • Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas!

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate or advanced degree in marketing, graphic design, visual communication, typography, or a related subject, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of five years of demonstrable experience (bonus points will be given to candidates that have experience working in a highly specialized tech start-up).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly and effectively communicate vision, concepts, ideas, and solutions to internal stakeholders, external agencies, clients and partners.
  • Strong writing skills in support of drafting copy for blog posts, website pages, social media, marketing collateral and/or sales enablement material.

  • Ability to effectively support or manage projects with strict and competing deadlines; ability to provide concise and conscientious updates on the status of projects.
  • Competency in a variety of design software for digital, print, and video projects, including Adobe Creative Suite, would be an advantage.
  • Open to receiving feedback, critique, and iterating projects.

Compensation
