About the Role:
As a Marketing Insights Intern, you will use and develop your understanding of consumers, quantitative and qualitative research expertise, and syndicated data sources to help inform Dyson's businesses decisions and strategy. You will work on a wide variety of research projects across all our product categories and will collaborate with cross functional teams (primarily within the U.S. but with global HQs in the UK and across other markets a needed). Adapting to shifting priorities, organization, attention to detail, and creative and timely deliverable creation are central to this role. But, you won't just be an intern, you'll be a key member of the Dyson team. You can expect to be tasked with project(s) that capitalize on your existing skills and stretch you out of your comfort zone. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Support the day-to-day responsibilities of the Americas Insights team
  • Use your attention to detail, creativity, and flexibility to assist your team in the creation, execution, and analysis of research for a diverse range of topics
  • Assist with all phases of research including questionnaire writing, managing vendor relationships, participant recruitment, data collection, and addressing quality control issues with programs/data tables/reports
  • Support Associate Consumer Insights Manager in reporting and deliverables through creative and impactful visualizations along with clear storytelling to deliver impactful recommendations and findings to the broader Dyson organization
  • Learn key custom DIY research and syndicated platforms. You will leverage these platforms to understand market landscape and competitors as well as consumer and macro trends to inform strategic decisions and address ad hoc questions
  • You will be mentored by experienced Insights Team members who will provide training and coaching to develop your career
  • Become an expert in Dyson products across categories and the way we portray our brand
  • Work with fellow interns and US Leadership Team on cross-functional project, presented to key stakeholders throughout the program

About You:
  • Rising undergraduate senior or graduate student (expected to graduate in Spring 2024)
  • Education curriculum focused in marketing, insights, social sciences, or related field
  • Some business knowledge through coursework and/or other internship experiences
  • Ability to tell a story with data; excellent communication, organization and presentation skills (written, oral, and across Microsoft Office Suite); or have a deep desire to further develop these skills
  • Strong analytical skills; experimental design, survey creation and analysis; data triangulation experience; or have a deep desire to further develop these skills
  • You have an eye for details and make a conscious effort to understand the actual cause behind an occurrence
  • You can adapt to changing priorities to meet multiple project timelines and stakeholder needs
  • You thrive in a team environment but also can perform independently
  • You possess an entrepreneurial spirit with a strong drive to do whatever it takes to make big impact
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with MS office (Excel/PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • SPSS expertise a plus
