- The Operating Room Materials Coordinator is responsible for ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing all supplies used in the O.R.
- Responsible for ensuring that all surgical instrumentation and equipment are kept in good repair
- Additional responsibilities include assisting in establishing and maintaining uniformity and accuracy of patient charges
- Responsible for all required medical device tracking, pertaining to Surgical Services.
- Co-ordinate all “return” items in a timely manner.
- Co-ordinate all “recall” items in a timely manner
- This position is responsible for the maintenance and coordination of the surgical supply system, ensuring that it operates in a fiscally sound manner and manages supplies and equipment from acquisition to disposition.
- Maintain adequate surgery inventory in a cost-effective manner.
- Minimum of three years Materials Coordinator experience
- BS degree preferred.
- Must have substantial knowledge of hospital peri-operative inventory control
- Must have the ability to maintain a constructive working relationship with administration, surgeons, staff, support services, vendors, and the purchasing department
- Excellent communication (verbal, non-verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Effective analytical ability to develop and analyze options, recommend solutions, and solve complex problems and issues.
- Demonstrates attention to detail (thorough, accurate)
- Advanced Computer skills (Word, Excel, Google Suite, Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work well under pressure and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift, stand and stoop without any physical limitations.Ability to determine the appropriate course of action in more complex situations
- Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize the scheduling of work
