Responsible for the Graphic Design of print and digital advertisements, billboards, digital sign graphics, fliers, posters, brochures, newsletters, programs, social media and email graphics, presentations, reports, etc. Will also be responsible for maintaining and updating WordPress websites, branding guidelines of the department, as well as creating new brands/logos when necessary.
Additional Job Functions May Include:
- Media Relations: Maintains a relationship with the media by researching, writing and editing press releases; sending press releases, including calendars of events, to various groups and media organizations; answering calls for information; keeping in personal contact with the media; preparing media kits; conducting press conferences; writing letters to the editor.
- Market Research: Performs marketing research for the department and assists with the coordination of marketing efforts.
- Collateral: Design marketing materials for a department or division including brochures, fliers, direct mail publications, newsletters, signage and website updates.
- Customer Service: Assists customers with information and directions by responding to telephone, or email; assisting customers with directions and information on hotels, events, restaurants, attractions, businesses, parks, City Hall and other locations. Provides outstanding customer service to create Raving Fans.
- Events: May assist with planning and implementation of press tours, ground breakings, grand openings, dignitary receptions, and other special events; including itineraries, reservations, programs, travel arrangements, accommodations, invitations, and all arrangements to ensure a smooth, productive, purposeful, error free event.
- Communications: Responsible for creating, writing, printing, mailing, distributing a variety of customer communication tools, including newsletters, direct mails, events, calendars, brochures, surveys, websites, meetings, photography.
- Advertising: Creates, assists with design and places advertising as appropriate within budget, matching key messages with target audiences using appropriate medium (billboard, print, trade publications, TV, radio).
- Marketing Plans: Researches, plans, writes, budgets, implements and analyzes marketing plans to deliver key messages to target audiences using a variety of communication tools as appropriate within budget and timeframes to accomplish goals.
- Performs other administrative duties or projects as assigned.
- One to two years of experience in marketing and Graphic Design.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a minimum of four years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
