Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas (GSSWT) is headquartered in San Antonio, TX and serves more than 15,000 Girl Scouts (girls and adults) across 21 counties in southwest Texas. Girl Scouts is the world’s preeminent leadership development organization for girls, building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We're seeking a creative, passionate Graphic Design and Website Specialist to join our Marketing and Communications team.

Job Summary

The Graphic Design and Website Specialist assists in supporting the visibility and positive reputation of the Girl Scout brand by creating and maintaining key marketing and communications elements that ensure a consistent and cohesive message and meet the council’s strategic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates visually compelling and on-brand communication and marketing materials, including but not limited to print publications, mailers, ads, flyers, social media posts, signage, advertisements, event staging, and web graphics.
  • Collaborates with Development and Communication team as well as other departments to develop multi-media marketing and communication strategies and tools to promote council programs, activities, campaigns, and events.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously while working on tight deadlines.
  • Ensures consistency in visual brand identity across the organization, providing guidance and consultation with staff as needed.
  • Coordinates and tracks production of materials with printers/production teams to ensure deadlines are met and quality is of the highest level.
  • Conducts analytic reporting on the website and serves as the primary liaison with the council’s website vendor.
  • Creates compelling website content with understanding of UX/UI design principles and handles web maintenance and updates from Girl Scouts of the USA.
  • Stays up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and techniques.
  • Manages department and Website files with proper labeling and storage.
  • Assists Development and Communications team in preparation for and at major, department-related events.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned in support of the council’s mission and goals.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation.
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, visual arts, or related field; or three to five years related experience in Graphic Design.
  • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: Must be proficient with industry standard software and tools including Adobe Suite experience (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), WIX.com, and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). Adobe Experience Manager, Canva, basic HTML, Google Analytics 4, Meta Business Suite, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud a bonus but not required. Knowledge of video editing a plus.

Licensure/Membership Requirements: The employee is required to maintain membership with Girl Scouts of the United States of America throughout the duration of their employment with GSSWT.

  • This position primarily performs its duties indoors and is occasionally exposed to outdoors weather conditions and/or moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands or arms. The employee occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
