Overview:
California Institute of Arts & Technology is seeking an energetic and passionate Marketing Director to lead the department to meet and exceed student growth goals. The Marketing Director is a pivotal leadership role responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing strategy that will propel CIAT to the forefront of the national higher education marketplace. The Marketing Director will oversee and recommend optimizations in CIAT's advertising portfolio using a data-driven approach to maximize enrollment ROI and student retention.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking marketing strategy aligned with the college's vision and goals. Craft a roadmap to achieve a significant increase in student enrollment over the next 5 years
  • Create and manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring maximum ROI on marketing investments. Utilize data-driven insights to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with all CIAT departments to align marketing efforts with enrollment and student retention goals
  • Evaluate and recommend new lead-generation, media, and technology partnerships
  • Develop and maintain internal processes to ensure marketing campaign planning, execution, performance tracking, and optimization are completed on schedule and within allocated budgets
  • Lead digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media campaigns, to drive lead generation, engagement, and conversions
  • Oversee the creation of compelling and informative content across various channels to position the college as a thought leader and attract prospective students
  • Collaborate with CIAT's Admissions, Financial Aid, Accounting, Education, and Career Services departments to support streamlined student communication initiatives
  • Ensure the website is maintained with up-to-date content, competitive and persuasive branding, and technical optimization
  • Perform ongoing competitive benchmarking and in-depth market research to ensure CIAT stays on top of industry messaging and higher education trends
  • Ensure CIAT policies and procedures are executed, monitored, and upheld on an ongoing basis to ensure all Federal, State, accreditation, and institutional policies and procedures are met
  • Supervise and mentor the marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Lead hiring and performance management initiatives to meet department objectives
  • Maintain a motivated and professional team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, coaching and training employees
  • Coach and counsel employees in partnership with HR
  • Provide professional growth opportunities for employees
  • Process timely, accurate, fair, without bias, performance reviews
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and ethical work environment
  • Embody CIAT's mission, vison and values

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field is preferred
  • 8+ years of marketing experience, 3+ years in marketing leadership experience required
  • Experience building and cultivating teams to reach performance metrics
  • Experience using enterprise CRM systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel, or business data management tools to measure marketing campaign performance
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to drive innovation
  • An in-depth understanding of the technology industry including education and career requirements, technology vendors, certification, and/or credentials requirements
  • A computer savvy and technical mindset willing to learn new systems that are deployed and build automated processes to streamline manual activities
  • Strong presentation, public speaking, and writing skills
  • Possess a sincere interest in helping others achieve life goals
  • Takes a customer-service-oriented approach to recruiting and retaining students and collaborating with internal departments
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, assertive, results-driven, high energy, and highly ethical
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to prioritize
  • Reliable transportation to go on campus, attend seminars/training, if required

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hybrid position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required to accommodate student support coverage. Travel to CIAT campus for sponsored events may be required.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the Marketing department personnel and independent contractors or agencies completing work for the Marketing Department.

  • Ability to type, use a computer to search for information, and input information while speaking on the phone is required
  • Requires daily use of a personal computer and related software applications at a workstation
  • Requires completion of some tasks that require reaching, grasping, and making repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties
  • Requires prolonged sitting and or standing at a workstation for 8+ hours per day
  • Requires dependability and excellent attendance records
  • Requires travel to conduct CIAT business, as needed
  • The employee will be required to compute simple to simple mathematical calculations as a normal part of this role
