Primary Purpose:
The Marketing Director, Retail Activation is a valuable member of the Marketing team and is responsible for bringing to life channel and brand strategies, assets, concepts, and communications to the point of purchase in the retail environment. The Marketing Director, Retail Activation will be responsible for leading the development of selling tools, point of sale materials and programs, and insight-led learnings to improve the competitive position of the brand portfolio across all the retail channels, including convenience store, grocery, and Mass channel in Consumer Packaged Goods.
KeyResponsibilities
- Facilitate and develop channel and customer growth strategies for key channels, including small and large format C-stores, grocery, and mass retailers.
- Translate brand strategies into compelling go to market compelling marketing programs and communications.
- Collaborate with field sales and brand teams to support the planning and execution of current and future Retail Activation initiatives such as product launches, expansions, or marketing support.
- Develop, execute, and manage communication of the Retail Activation calendar with objectives and strategies to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with multiple internal departments, including Marketing, Operations, Field Sales Teams, IT, Legal, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance, from product concept to launch.
- Develop and manage vendor relationships (in partnership with supply chain and purchasing teams) to create compelling go-to-market collateral.
- Manage the point-of-sale online portal to enable easy and intuitive access to point-of-sale material.
- Manage forecasts of point-of-sale to minimize inventory surplus while meeting field demand.
- Creatively and proactively simplify the point-of-sale assortment by optimizing components.
- Recruit, hire, and train the Retail Activation team.
- Develop category and shopper insights leveraging knowledge tools like IRI, MSA, and others to communicate to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required
- 5+ years related experience in Marketing, Sales Operations, Agency, or Retail
- Proven ability to own projects from start to finish while being detail-oriented, highly organized, and process-driven but also full of creative ideas and big-picture thinking
- Highly developed project, program, change-management, and multi-tasking skills with proven ability to handle a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent communication/presentation skills, partnering with all levels of internal departments as well as external partners to ensure projects maintain momentum
- Ability to interact with Customers, Employees, and Business Partners inside and outside of the retail environment while delivering results
- An adept leader who will empower direct reports to deliver breakthrough results and cultivate a positive team culture while balancing technical and interpersonal skills

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.

- 10 years of related experience in Marketing, Sales Operations, Agency, or Retail
- Experience in consumer, apparel, or lifestyle brands is highly preferred
- Event coordination or management experience is strongly preferred
