Job Title:Marketing & Communications Associate
FLSA Classification: Non- Exempt
Compensation: $20 - $30 per hour

Reports to: | Marketing & Communications Manager
- Assist MK/CM Manager in designing, planning, and implementing communication and marketing strategies and activities that are supportive of CHT’s strategic plan.
- Assist in maintaining a robust organizational online presence (both website-based and social media), upholding CHT’s mission and values at all times.
- Under supervision of the MK/CM Manager, lead the creation and distribution of solicitation and promotional materials for department programs and fundraising team.
- Support the designing, ordering, and purchasing of reusable marketing materials and other capital supplies from outside vendors while maintaining inventory and coordinating appropriate storage of materials.
- Assist in maintaining an updated and organized bank of photos for organizational use.
- Work alongside the MK/CM Manager to collaborate with Development and Program teams to support and promote special events and overall program services.
- Assist in the creation of communication material such as newsletters, annual reports, donor and sponsorship acknowledgments, blogs and videos in support of Development and Program teams.
- Support the promotion and execution of special events including but not limited to the creation and purchasing of marketing materials and day of event support as needed.
- Attend and support outreach events while promoting CHT mission and services.
- Complete other tasks as assigned in support of CHT’s mission.
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) required
- Valid CA driver’s license required
- Working towards bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of marketing, communication, or graphic design experience. Additional experience may be considered in place of education.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, with accurate grammar and composition and meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships by dealing tactfully, cooperatively, effectively and respectfully
- Understanding of basic marketing, communications and public relations practices with the ability to use tact and discretion in handling a variety of sensitive and confidential matters
- Strong working knowledge of social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube; including data analytics, tracking and reporting functions
- Ability to research and analyze marketing and communications trends and best practices, and to recommend changes to practice based on this knowledge
- Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Strong working knowledge of Canva, WordPress and web content development.
- Experience in photography, video production, Photoshop, InDesign and HTLM a plus.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as needed
