SouthLight Healthcare, one of the area's largest nonprofit behavioral health agencies, is looking for a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our Community Engagement Team. Great benefits and work culture. This position will create content, manage social media, execute marketing initiatives and support outreach and fundraising initiatives. It's a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days in our Raleigh office. We're looking for someone with strong writing skills, social media savvy and a passion for mission-focused work. Schedule
Full-time, 40hrs/wk.
This is a hybrid position requiring a couple days per week in our Raleigh office, super flexible otherwise!
Pay
Starting rate is between $48,000 - $50,000, based on experience.

You will be eligible for medical benefits the first of the month following your first 30 days. We have options for a standard plan, as well as an HSA with a $300 initial contribution and up to a $25 per paycheck match. You would receive 10 paid holidays as well as PTO hours which would accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. After 6 months you would be eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. We also provide company paid life insurance, short- and long-term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and paid credentialing. SouthLight is also eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF).
Job Responsibilities of a Marketing & Communications Specialist
- Manage social media: Manage social media strategy and execution including the editorial calendar, content creation, scheduling, monitoring engagement, analytics and reporting.
- Create content: Write, edit and curate content for various marketing channels, including website, blog, press releases, social media platforms, newsletters, email campaigns and print materials. Write and curate compelling stories, quotes, photos and video from key stakeholders.
- Develop collateral: Create marketing collateral, ensuring consistent messaging and branding. Manage workflow and inventory, and work with graphic designer to produce materials.
- Internal Communications: Support internal communications including writing and gathering content for a monthly staff newsletter, posting news on our internal intranet (SharePoint), and supporting staff events and campaigns.
- Marketing Campaigns: Help execute marketing campaigns to educate the community about mental health and substance use and promote access to services.
Qualifications of a Marketing & Communications Specialist
Education and Experience
- BS/BA Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Media Relations or related field and/or 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in healthcare, behavioral health or nonprofits a plus
- Experience managing social media accounts
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have excellent written communication, editing, and organizational skills and knowledge of AP style guide.
- Extensive knowledge of social media platforms and social media scheduling software (Sendible or similar platform).
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed for outreach events.
- Proficient working with computers, Microsoft office suite, Google suite.
- Experience creating graphics, video editing and using Canva Pro.
