You will be a key member of TRC’s Field Services team, responsible for sector and corporate-wide business development and project execution relating to TRC’s full-service offerings. This includes strategic vision by cultivating and maintaining relationships with clients, expanding brand awareness of TRC and selling TRC services. Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, strategic thinker, a team player and be able to travel.
This person is responsible for securing contracts and MSA’s with companies in the renewables industry along with managing and project execution. This position requires strong business development, and client services skills, ideally with a background associated with the Utility and/or Renewable markets. Our ideal career driven candidate will have extensive practical experience managing a large portfolio of multiple solar, wind and/or renewable projects of significant complexity and be the primary project advocate and point of communication with the client and project teams.
Other responsibilities include land acquisition project management and project execution, including strategies for interactions with landowners and clients. Guides, coaches, and motivates Land personnel as necessary to meet project schedules, budgets, and objectives; resolves Land issues with landowners, the general public or agencies. Understands real estate acquisition, title, permitting which include community outreach, GIS mapping and database platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationship with key and strategic clients
- Build strategic company-to-company relationship with key management within TRC
- Project proposal development (RFP’s and RFI’s) for proposed projects, includes:
- Ensure a clear understanding of the RFP project scope and terms
- Facilitate the proposal development including complex project execution, plans, estimation, and schedule.
- Facilitate a legal review by TRC legal staff prior to contract signing
- Facilitating competitive quotes for services
- Manage targeted client accounts to leverage cross sector growth
- Monitors the personnel's performance of activities, completion of documentation, personal conduct, and work ethics. Evaluates these actions and provides guidance, coaching, motivation or discipline as necessary to reinforce their role on the project. Approves personnel time and expenses.

- Identify and pursue opportunities that ensure achieving revenue and backlog growth
- Fully capable of utilizing TRC’s CRM tool - Salesforce
- Communicates directly with the Client Representative and the Project Managers to report project progress outlining problems with possible resolution to pertinent issues impeding project completion.
- Responsible for the overall project activities. Identifies negative trends, problem issues and implements resolution to reduce or eliminate adverse impacts on overall performance.
- Reviews requirements and develops a written Execution Plan for the implementation of the activities needed to meet those requirements.
- Monitors the overall tasks for compliance to project requirements. Identifies changes in work scope, variance in schedule or budgeted costs. Implements and documents the necessary actions to incorporate work changes and maintain progress schedules and budgeted costs.
- Provide guidance and to assure all procedures and policies are being adhered to.
- Provide guidance to Title Supervisors and/or title personnel as required in abstracting analysis, identification of necessary title curative work, and related documentation to record the process.
- Provide guidance and supervision to Land Permit Coordinators and/or personnel in securing non-environmental permits, licenses, and obtaining the various approvals required for project construction.
- Provide guidance and supervision to Document Coordinators and/or Document Specialist in Land information management and control of related documents, records, and reports. Review and approve pertinent documentation for accuracy, content, as well as consistent formatting before distribution.
- Ensure the maintenance of documentation, within each area of responsibility
- Daily, weekly and monthly status reports. Progress by county, state, and total project within each agent's area of responsibility.
- Complete a Personnel Performance Evaluation form on all Land personnel upon termination or job completion of their assignment.
- Release assigned personnel as they complete their duties and responsibilities, inform the Manager of Land Services of their release.
- Adhere to project Safety Plan
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Possess good relationships with clients in the Utility and Renewables sector
- Proven history of solar, wind and renewable industry project management and execution
- Personable, with very strong communication skills, and possess the desire to lead an aggressive business expansion in a fast paced and dynamic market.
- Possess strong client facing Business Development experience
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills
- Effect team leader, collaborator, and strategist
- Management of solar, wind and renewable projects via the use of TRC database management tools and integrated GIS viewer
- 4+ years’ experience negotiating leases and purchase option agreements
- Experience with utility-scale renewable projects preferred
- Preferred experience with title and curative mattes
- Experience with land-related community and local government affairs in support of local use permits
- Travel for this role will fluctuate (40-50%)
- 4-year relevant college degree or work equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including spreadsheet and word processing.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
- Must be detail oriented and have excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Must be knowledgeable in the methods and techniques for performing Land Services activities. Must possess competent knowledge and skills in land description and terminology, surface and subsurface rights, Land document analysis, and have excellent negotiation skills.

- This job will require the majority of work to be performed in a well-lighted, temperature controlled office setting. Most activities require work to be performed at field locations, governmental agencies, corporate entities, and client offices. There are frequent interruptions during the workday for impromptu meetings.
