American Construction Metals (ACM), a strategic business unit of ABC Supply, produces a wide array of metal building materials including trim coil, edge metal, gutter systems, and a variety of other metal accessories. This position's primary objective is to complete the manufacturing plan, while controlling cost and keeping engaged associates. The ideal candidate will be required to lead, as well as coach, the manufacturing team, which includes, but is not limited to: Production Personnel and Production Leads.
Responsibilities:
- Approving and/or designing daily and weekly production plans
- Providing leadership to the production team and encouraging associate engagement
- Ensuring that Operators and technicians are performing obligations, tasks and following typical duties
- Coordinating manufacturing priorities with production leads
- Conducting performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Ensuring operators and technicians have equipment necessary to perform duties
- Communicating with Process Engineers to maintain the Quality Management System and existing processes
- Maintaining safety procedures and overall plant safety
- Leading safety and training program meeting and classes
- Assisting with the interview process of new associates
- Communicating HR issues in a timely manner to management team
- Providing team leads with work orders for the daily runs
- Performing additional tasks and projects delegated by Operations Manager
- Monitoring efficiencies and productivity levels using data collection systems
- Mentoring leads and associates on continuous improvement and 5s methodologies
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Specification/Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting is required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership position is required
- High school diploma or equivalent required, some higher education preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, carry, reach, push, and pull for a full 8-hour day
- Exceptional management and supervisory skills
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify issues and determine solutions that are needed
