Toray Advanced Composites (TAC) is a leading supplier of advanced composite materials for the aerospace, sporting goods, motor sport and industrial markets. You will find our thermoset composite products on nearly every satellite, space launch vehicle, unmanned aircraft, military and commercial aircraft in production today. Our thermoplastic prepregs, known in the industry as Cetex®, are found in a wide range of commercial and military aircraft, including large wing structures and interior applications like seats and galleys. Our Cetex products are available in unidirectional tape or fabric form in a variety of engineered thermoplastic resins including PEEK, PPS, PEI as well as a full line of performance thermoplastics including Nylon, PET, PC/ABS, HDPE, and PP.

Manufacturing Manager

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for all parts and prepreg manufacturing operations, tool fabrication, and parts program management activities. The incumbent will work through the Production Supervisors and Program Managers to ensure that customer requirements are met. The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for safety, quality, on-time delivery, labor efficiency, and inventory accuracy. This position will work closely with the Program Managers, Quality Manager, Materials Management, Customer Service, and Engineering Manager to ensure that customer requirements are met in a timely manner.
MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Lead the lean manufacturing effort through the manufacturing area.
- Work directly with Customer Service and Engineering to provide status to customers and lead time on new orders.
- Ensure that all manufacturing inventory transactions are accurate and done in a timely manner.
- The Manufacturing Manager must be well versed in inventory control skills as this is a key part of the job. Must be able to train others in this area and develop metrics and monitoring methods to ensure transaction accuracy.
- The Manufacturing Manager must ensure that there is adequate trained staff to support current and projected business volume.
- Takes feedback from the quality group and Program Engineers to develop action plans to correct problems and improve operational efficiency.
- Is a key participant in the plant safety committee and ensures compliance with plant safety rules in his area of responsibility.
- Ensure that the manufacturing group does what is needed to achieve on-time delivery goals.
- Is a key participant in all cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives along with Engineering and Material Control groups.
- Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or designee.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a minimum of five years of manufacturing management experience.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in either engineering or business administration.
- Must be familiar with computerized inventory control and scheduling systems.
- Experience in a build to print and build to specification environment is required.
- Must have the ability to read blue prints. CAD experience is a plus.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Able to work and communicate as a member of a team and have experience in working in and leading cross-functional teams.
SALARY RANGE:
$115,000 - $135,000 DOE
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
There are no special requirements for the job other than being able to perform normal computer related tasks. Must be able to spend extended periods of time walking around the plant as part of normal job functions. No significant lifting requirements. Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
