Manufacturing Final Assembly Engineer
The Final Assembly Engineering Team within Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering is looking for an engineer who will be responsible for supporting 3 key areas within Final Assembly. These three areas in order of workload include
(1) Tracking & Approving Equipment Information System deliverables from OEM Suppliers
(2) Writing & Releasing Process Sheets for Ports
(3) Writing & Receiving tooling, equipment, & facility orders for f5x Program.
Typical activities are as follows:
· Conduct weekly meetings with all vendors
· Obtain tool lists for upcoming programs & plant actions
· Work with Launch Teams to identify station/column pillar assignments as they relate the specific tools
· Obtain tooling buy-off dates to drive timing
· Track submission of EIS deliverables
· Provide status update & escalate issues
· Review supplier delivered MFMEA’s
· Review proposed M-Task revisions and new M-Task assignment
· Approve Tool Profile Sheets
· Approve IM Component List
· Coach suppliers as needed
· Assess all proposed port processes for assembly feasibility
· Write & publish processes for all Port Operations
· Train Port personnel on all process sheets
· Support all OKTB events
· Attend Export PATs
· Drive initiative to push Port assembly processes back into Assembly Plants, when possible.
· Audit PPL and Process Sheet Alignment.
· Support all specialized Port Tooling (VIN Stamp, Puma, etc.).
· Work with Ports & NAVL (North America Vehicle Logistics) to resolve any campaign issues involving Port processes
· Support PD (Product Development) with writing Purchase Orders for tooling, facilities, equipment, etc.
· Manage F5x Checkbooks using PFR2
· Work with Final Assembly Core group to provide tooling guidance to DCP with regard to Final Assembly standards
· Work to confirm receipt/completion of tooling, facilities, etc. an receive invoices
Skills Required:
· MFMEA Process and Content Knowledge
· Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
· Ability to multi-task and coordinate activities across Final Assembly
Skills Preferred:
· Knowledge of SAP procurement Software
· Knowledge of Final Assembly Tooling & Equipment
Experience Required:
· Automotive Manufacturing Experience required. - Process Writing
Education Required:
· Bachelor Degree Required
Education Preferred:
· Bachelor Degree in Engineering Preferred
Additional Information :
· Some travel will be required to Ports throughout North America. Local travel may be required to Detroit Chassis Plant.
