Responsibilities for Manufacturing Engineer:
- Apply engineering principles to perform routine design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation in support of manufacturing operations.
- Develop manufacturing methods and processes to include, but not limited to work instructions, Bill of Materials, ergonomics and safety factors.
- Recommend tooling and production methods to optimize human factors and efficiency.
- Involved in the development of manufacturing process plans, test requirements, manufacturing flow, and capacity plans.
- Review detail designs for manufacturability.
- Practice process improvement (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred) tools and techniques to improve cost, quality, schedule, environment and safety performance.
- Design and construct special tooling and fixtures as necessary to support productions assembly.
- Lead problem resolution efforts in support of production.
- Lead training sessions and team meetings for production personnel.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering activities by performing literature searches, submitting Bill of Materials updates, and other related tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline (ME preferred)
- 3+ years experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a similar role
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work well within a team structure and independently
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of tools
- CAD experience (ProE/Creo)
- Experience with process improvement tools (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
