Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth, NH. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in improving and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production, and driving continuous improvement. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our operations and help us meet the demands and expectations of our customers.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production managers, quality engineers, and maintenance technicians. You will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing processes, identifying potential areas for improvement, and implementing effective solutions. Your strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills will be instrumental in optimizing productivity, reducing costs, and ensuring high-quality output.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing efficient manufacturing processes and workflows
- Conducting process improvement studies and identifying opportunities to enhance productivity
- Developing and implementing quality control procedures and standards
- Collaborating with production teams to ensure effective equipment utilization
- Analyzing production data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Participating in the selection and installation of new manufacturing equipment
- Providing technical support and guidance to production teams
- Developing and maintaining clear and accurate documentation of automation equipment
- Researching and developing new processes, new equipment, and new products introduction (NPI).
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, electrical engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering, ideally in a fast-paced production environment
- Minimum of 5 years hands on practical experience supporting and designing automated systems
- Minimum of 5 years hands on practical experience in a production and/or assembly environment
- In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies
- Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software and other relevant engineering tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations governing manufacturing processes
- Communication skills will need to be able to explain novel and complex ideas to stakeholders of all levels and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Problem-solving and creative thinking will be required to troubleshoot problems as they arise and find effective solutions
- Flexibility & Adaptability must be able to keep up with latest techniques and technologies as they develop
- Must have knowledge and experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
- Desired knowledge of Project Management, Risk Assessment, and Design of Experiments
