Job Responsibilities:
1. Designing and developing manufacturing procedures, tooling, and fixtures that result in sufficient capacity to meet customer demand while also promoting product quality, process efficiency, and operator safety.
2. Providing production line support including, but not limited to, implementing process improvements, troubleshooting equipment, and addressing operator inquiries.
3. Generating and modifying manufacturing process documentation and assuring that manufacturing processes and related documentation follow established policies and procedures.
4. Utilizing the best practice tools and principles for day-to-day problem solving and continuous improvement.
5. Assisting in identifying equipment needs on the production floor and evaluating internal and external options for sourcing such equipment.
6. Writing and executing process and equipment validations.
7. Working with the Internal Audit team to perform annual schedule of quality system audits.
8. Working with external vendors as needed.
9. Following to equipment maintenance by the maintenance department
10. Drive and champion risk reduction activities.
11. Support Production in reducing / eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies.
12. Create and maintain Process Flow, PFMEA, and Operation and Maintenance documentation.
13. Meet or exceed labor content and product cost standards utilizing good assembly methodologies and ergonomics.
14. Support and maintain error-proofing methodologies.
15. Take part or facilitate the team Lean strategies and methodologies and / or Six Sigma activities.
16. Facilitate continuous improvement for all processes.
17. Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes.
18. Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, or processes and systems.
19. Document all activities as required.
20. Coordinate, calculate and analyze the management indicators assigned to Manufacturing Business Unit (KPI), related to each process, and execute the necessary actions for the collection of field data together with the Superintendents of each area, for the achievement of goals and continuous improvement.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 1-2+ years demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Aptitude to learn Operational Excellence programs and Continuous Improvement.
- Must have excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Establish and maintain facility environmental, safety, and health standards to minimize employee and community exposure.
- Must possess solid computer skills and working with production software, excel spreadsheets and other reporting applications.
Work Environment
- Work location is based primarily in an office and shop setting. Assignments may be outdoors in all weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually mild in office conditions, moderate in the shop area, and loud in the blast building.
