Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team at our facility located in Melrose Park, IL, 60160. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining cylindrical grinder machines, utilizing your manual machining skills, and setting up machines for production runs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment and contribute to the production of high-quality products.
Responsibilities- Operate and maintain cylindrical grinder machines to produce precision parts
- Perform manual machining tasks, such as drilling, milling, and turning, to shape and finish components
- Set up machines for production runs, ensuring proper calibration and alignment
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to determine machining specifications
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, making necessary adjustments as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines and protocols
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and meet production targets

Qualifications- Proven experience operating manual mills and/or lathes
- Strong manual machining skills, including drilling, milling, and turning
- Ability to set up machines for production runs, ensuring accurate calibration and alignment
- Strong work ethic and desire to perform high quality work
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Attention to detail and ability to inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make adjustments to machines as needed
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
