Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of machining processes and be able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manual machines to produce parts according to specifications and performing regular maintenance and troubleshooting on the machines. The Manual Machinist must also be able to work independently and adhere to safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Being responsible for setting up Bridgeport Machine. Lathe experience is a plus.
- Be willing to troubleshoot manufacturing problems related to fixturing and tooling.
- Read & interpret blueprints – both imperial and metric standards.
- Perform basic machining math including fractional/decimal conversion, basic trigonometry (sin, cos), and calculating dimensions and tolerances.
- Produces quality pieces with images properly aligned and with quality imprints.
- Identifies quality defects and adjusts machine as necessary to correct them.
- Properly uses all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and works in a safe manner.
Qualifications:
- High School degree or GED
- Prior experience operating manual machines in a manufacturing setting
- Excellent hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to count accurately.
- Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a range of practical problems.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to consistently stand, walk, stoop, climb, bend, and lift material or equipment that may be heavy.
