Manual Machinist

Job Description

The majority of the parts machined are ID and OD threads, * being able to machine threads is a requirement.*
The ideal candidate will produce machined hydraulic components by correctly interpreting drawings & work instructions, fully understanding programs and set ups for Manual Lathes and/or Mills,understand the machining process; choose correct tools to set up and operate Manual Lathes and/or Mills.
Ability to listen and interpret machine & cutter noises to minimize machining issues. Maintain quality and safety standards, correctly measures parts, maintain equipment and tooling

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Good understanding of machining processes.
Set up and operate Manual Lathes and/or Mills accurately, efficiently, and safely.
Identify & understand the drawing & part or casting material to be machined. Choose the correct program, tooling, inserts, and fixtures. Check & adjust speeds and feeds and make offset adjustments to efficiently machine the part to within the specified tolerances & work instructions. Check coolant & tool wear; correctly changing inserts / tools as necessary. Identify & correct any minor issues or problems to machine the part(s) to within our guidelines.

Use gauges and other measuring instruments including: micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, indicators and bore gauges, etc. to perform quality control checks on parts in process & upon completion.
Maintain safe working operations & conditions by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
Must keep the work space etc. clean, tidy & have a professional appearance at all times.
Must work as part of a team, and help to create a good working environment & atmosphere. Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
May perform other duties as requested.

This position is eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance after 60 days of employment. Paid vacation after 1 year of employment. 401K matching after 1 year of employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
