In the production process, it's vital to closely watch over the machinery and regularly check for quality to ensure they're running correctly and meeting specifications. Paying attention to details and staying focused on the task are key qualities for success in this role. While we prefer candidates with trade school training, we also value equivalent practical experience when searching for the right fit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manual Machinist Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize a diverse range of precision and cutting tools and equipment, including drill presses, chop saws, lathes, and mills. Craft, shape, and fabricate machine parts and tools.
  • Interpret and adhere to mechanical blueprints.
  • Ensure all work consistently meets exacting quality standards, provided instructions, and precise specifications.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of and adherence to industry regulations.
  • Regularly perform maintenance, cleaning, and necessary repairs on machinery and equipment.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:
  • Ensure CNC machinery is in optimal condition before setup.
  • Set up machinery for successful operation according to specifications.
  • Program CNC machines as required.
  • Monitor the machining process, ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Strictly adhere to safety standards.
  • Promptly report any safety or maintenance concerns to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate; preference given to trade school graduates.
  • 1+ years of experience in CNC Machining or a similar/relevant role preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and instructions.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Physical fitness and capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Possession of strong analytical skills, precision, and unwavering attention to detail.

Skills/ Abilities essential to the position:
  • Expertise in operating various machining tools with precision to produce accurate components.
  • Proficient in interpreting and understanding technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to program and operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines for efficient production.
  • Skilled in using a variety of tools, including lathes, mills, drills, and grinders.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Understanding of different materials and their properties to choose appropriate machining techniques.
  • Capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during machining processes.
  • Solid mathematical aptitude for precise measurements, calculations, and adjustments.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, coordinating efforts with other machinists and production personnel.
  • Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new technologies, processes, and changes in manufacturing requirements.
  • Clear communication skills to convey information about project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Understanding of mechanical principles to troubleshoot and optimize machine performance.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal function
