Debt Capital Markets (DCM) is a division within Capital Markets under Global Banking. The private placement business originates, structures, and executes fixed income transactions on behalf of HSBC’s clients. The Head of Private Placements will have strategic and operational oversight of the Private Placements team.
The individual will be responsible for overseeing and leading the firm’s fixed income private placement activities across HSBC’s client base. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in structuring, executing, and managing private placement transactions across various sectors and industries.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Private Placements team, providing guidance, mentorship, and strategic direction
- Develop and maintain relationships with institutional investors and potential clients to source private placement opportunities
- Evaluate and develop a deep pipeline of PrivateCapital Markets opportunities, and work with internal and external teams to drive debt private placement execution processes
- Originate, structure, and execute private placement transactions tailored to clients’ financing needs
- Conduct detailed due diligence and credit analyses, using both qualitative and quantitative factors, on rated and unrated private placement candidates and make recommendations based on the analyses
- Negotiate terms and conditions of Private placement transactions, optimizing terms for both the client and the firm
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure execution and seamless compliance
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks
- Represent HSBC in industry events, conferences, and enhance visibility and reputation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the wider Debt Capital Markets team as well as those within wider Investment Banking and coverage population
- Create a strong team spirit and coach, motivate and mentor team members
For this role, the targeted fixed pay is $400,000.
