Manager, Store Design - Calvin Klein

The Store Design Manager position is responsible for assisting the Director, Store Design & Planning in preparing store Construction Documents and Renderings based on a Global Concept Manual, and reviewing plan submissions from external operating partners.   

Responsibilities:

• This position will be dedicated to one or more international regions and be a main point of contact for external partners. This position will manage the intake and outflow of documentation between regional partners and Global Store Design. Excellent communication and project management/project tracking skills required
• Responsible for working with the Director, Store Design & Planning to prepare design documentation for all prototypical retail designs supplied by CKI for worldwide use by regional teams, joint venture partners and licensees
• Responsible for managing the flow of drawing sets from regional partners, and reviewing partner design submissions to meet CKI standards
• Documentation includes concept, schematic, and design development drawings. Drawings are defined as plans, elevations, sections, 3D computer generated exterior/interior rendered views, with an emphasis on detailed architectural and fixture drawings. 2D (CAD) and 3D Modelling skills required
• Produces or Reviews documentation up to the Design Development level, and reviews Construction Drawings from external partners for intent and compliance
• Assists in the production of prototypical fixture design manuals and updates
• Reviews prototype fixture shop drawings and mock-ups produced by regional contractors and prepares feedback packages
• Interfaces with other STORE DESIGN/planning and visual staff members in the development of design development documentation
• Communicates and Tracks documentation and project status through a web-based, collaborative Project Management software tool
• Organizes status reports and other information for meetings with internal staff members
• Follows the life-cycle of a project from conception through design, and monitors execution of projects by regional operating partners through regular virtual meetings. Construction Documents and Construction Management are performed by external partners
• Limited travel to job sites and meetings. Most of the time this is a CK office based position
• Candidate may be responsible to assist the Director Global Store Design in tracking budgets on local projects, or gathering information such as typical square foot costs for global record keeping
• It is expected that the candidate will learn the aesthetics and requirements of CK Retail Spaces, through ongoing collaboration with the Concept teams. Over time, the candidate will eventually be able to make architectural decisions that best represent the brand, without needing a large amount of oversight

Qualifications:        

• Bachelor or Masters in Architecture or Interior Design
• 5 years STORE DESIGN experience for an architectural consulting firm specializing in retail design for a fashion brand, or similar in an in-house team at a fashion brand
• Ability to conceptualize spatial designs and architectural brand imaging
• Must have EXCELLENT computer skills. Must be proficient at AutoCAD and Google SketchUp with Vray Renderer
• Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop is required
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
• Experience in Project Management preferred
• Good time management skills and interpersonal skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work flexibly and on multiple projects at one time
• Experience working on international projects in Southeast Asia and Latin America is preferred
• This role executes the design concept that has already been developed by the creative team. This role requires creativity in architectural design in order to translate the global concept into unique spaces. This role requires a technically sound Interior Designer/Architect with 3D rendering capabilities.  It is also essential that the candidate understand brand aesthetic and be able to manage multiple projects at one time

Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000
