POSITION SUMMARY
Plans, manages, monitors, and controls operations of the department to meet the company’s financial objectives striving for continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, safety, productivity, quality, and other cost savings initiatives. Integrates and manages the department, driving growth through safe and efficient shipping while meeting warehouse/customer goals.
JOB RESPO0NSIBILITIES
- Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
- Manages warehouse and monitors stacking and loading operations, implement projects and action plans to achieve production and shipping goals.
- Creates operating plans for current month and identifies and prepares for plans/actions/challenges for upcoming month to achieve customer and quality standards at the time of shipment.
- Manages departmental operating costs, such as consumables, R&M and manpower to meet budget targets. Identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Assists in development and monitors production metrics against annual KPIs for the department to include productivity, utilization, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Monitors and directs cycle counts to maintain correct inventory and perform inventory controller functions to maintain balance in aged and stocked material.
- Reviews Quality Control issues and recommends the appropriate course of action to ensure customer and quality standards are met at the time of shipment. · Document injuries through Environmental Health and Safety Management System (EHS Insight) and implements corrective actions.
- Provides guidance and technical assistance to the warehouse staff during operations or equipment breakdowns. Delegates work to appropriate departmental personnel and provides accurate and detailed instructions with defined expectations for timely work completion in accordance with established safety regulations, legal regulations, quality standards and in compliance with Company procedures.
- Builds teams and collaborates with cross-functional groups to resolve day-to-day issues, while providing strategic support to accomplish continuous improvement.
- Partners with production planning and contractors to schedule effective routine outages.
- Participates in development and formulation of policies, programs, and objectives affecting the schedule, quality, and cost of company production.
- Hires, coaches, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of staff. Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval. Provides strong leadership to the employees at the plant to ensure high morale, teamwork and good employee relations, at all levels, including on the shop floor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences or related field preferred
- 5 years experience in a management position, preferably in a manufacturing facility, with proven experience developing a strong operating team, including some experience with budgeting and forecasting operating and maintenance costs, planning and scheduling, project and process documentation
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
- Working knowledge of warehouse techniques and best practices
- Working knowledge of general preventive maintenance processes and methods
- Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to focus time on the most important and urgent issues
- Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills to interact with internal team members and external customers and vendors
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Goal oriented, aggressive self-starter with an entrepreneurial personality who can make strategic decisions with a sense of velocity and urgency
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex business problems and identify priorities
- Ability to identify key issues in a situation and think creatively and strategically when faced with internal and external challenges

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
