Security Manager manages the day-to-day activities of the Security, Parking Services Departments and Morgue operations. The Security Manager schedules employees work hours based upon need, manages time cards, conducts interviews and disciplinary actions, manages performance appraisals, coordinates regulatory required training programs, manages the chain of custody of cadavers for police and County Health Department, and maintains a fleet of hospital vehicles
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the supervision necessary for 24 hour security coverage of Broadway Campus, Mary's Avenue Campus, and Methadone Treatment Center.
- Prepare shift schedules, time sheets, maintain payroll records, uniform/inventory records, activity reports.
- Review daily activity reports, security department logs, employee/visitor complaints and respond when necessary.
- Supervise daily activities of day, evening and night shift officers; provide training information and guidance and recommend discipline/discharge action as appropriate.
- Conducts evaluations, security orientation, department meetings, interview job applicants, prepare competency assessments and coordinates security training programs.
- Active participation with the Hospital Safety Committee and Emergency Preparedness Committee.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years previous supervisory experience required in law enforcement/security
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 7 years’ experience required, or Associate's Degree with 5 years’ experience preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Maintains current NYS Security License
- Maintains acceptable NYS Driver's License
- Completes annual NYS-OMH Preventing and Managing Crisis Situation (PMCS) training.
- Basic computer skills; i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, etc.
OTHER
