We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager / Director of Sales Operations to join our dynamic sales team. The Senior Manager of Sales Operations will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s performance through optimizing sales processes, enhancing sales efficiency, and driving productivity. This individual will be responsible for streamlining sales operations, implementing best practices, and leveraging data-driven insights to drive strategic decision-making. The position will manage direct reports including business analysis, inside sales and proposal management functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Process Optimization: Develop, implement, and continuously refine sales processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Sales Performance Analysis: Analyze sales data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance sales performance.
  • Sales Forecasting and Planning: Collaborate with sales leadership to develop accurate sales forecasts and establish achievable sales targets. Monitor performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed.
  • CRM Management: Oversee the administration and optimization of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Ensure data accuracy, user adoption, and alignment with business objectives, potentially including implementation of new tools/ systems.
  • Sales Reporting and Analytics: Generate regular reports and dashboards to track key sales metrics, including pipeline health, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts. Present findings to senior management and sales teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, finance, operations, and other departments to align sales initiatives with overall business objectives. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment across departments.
  • Sales Enablement: Develop and implement sales enablement strategies, tools, and resources to empower the sales team and enhance their effectiveness in driving revenue. Help to develop best-practices and expand their use across the team.
  • Training and Development: Provide training, coaching, and support to sales representatives on sales processes, tools, and techniques. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Sales Tools and Technology: Evaluate, select, and implement sales tools and technology solutions to streamline processes, enhance productivity, and improve sales performance.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure sales operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices. Implement controls and processes to mitigate risks and maintain integrity.

What you bring to the table

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (5-7+ years) in sales operations, sales management, or related roles within the technology or renewable energy industry – ideally in an emerging growth environment with new technology.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Dynamics, HubSpot, Salesforce) and other sales productivity tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of building high-performing teams and driving results.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
