The Zaxbys Support Center is looking for a Restaurant Design Manager to support the Design & Construction team. This individual will direct outsourced architects and consultants responsible for producing construction documents for development of new, existing and franchised restaurants. It is the responsibility of this role is to ensure that the construction documents are consistent with design objectives and architectural quality standards while communicating Zaxbys brand image. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience necessary for establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and industry professionals particularly in branded design, restaurant or multi-unit retail industry.

This position is based in Atlanta, GA and allows for a hybrid work schedule that includes 3 in-office days per week.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Direct outsourced architects and consultants responsible for producing construction documents for development of new, existing and franchised restaurants
- Ensure that the construction documents are consistent with design objectives and architectural quality standards while communicating Zaxbys brand image
- Review and approve site plans and site adapted building plans for company and franchise new and remodel projects
- Provide creative direction to the architects for custom or unique site conditions, overall site planning, solutions for conversions, design review requirements and other non-traditional projects
- Demonstrate ability to develop unique design solutions to complex problems in space planning, construction details, material selection and branded storefronts
- Communicate design solutions by utilizing industry standard design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Photoshop and InDesign
- Develop strategic and operational plans for the design team, managing execution, and measuring results
- Responsible for the tracking of drawings from concept to opening
- Manage prototype updates on a regularly scheduled basis
- Oversee the design process to ensure that designs meet Zaxbys, jurisdictional and landlord design criteria, and that construction documents comply with internal quality standards
- Prepare, communicate and educate the project teams on changes in policies and practices within the organization
- Track architectural design changes and modifications for impact on the store development budget
- Effectively communicate with franchisees and manage all approvals during the development of new and remodel restaurants

- Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
- Bachelors Degree in Architectural Design, Business Administration or related discipline; OR equivalent combination of education and experience Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in Architectural Design or Design Project Management; 3+ years of experience managing and working with construction plans and specifications for multi-unit new and remodel projects, directly managing a team of external consultants, managing and working with architectural and site plan design
