Responsibilities

PLANT MANAGER

We are seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to join our team! The Plant Manager will ensure successful accomplishment of manufacturing processes in support of safety, quality, cost and delivery. S/he will participate as a member of an integrated operations team for existing products and new product introduction.

 

Essential Job Functions (includes but is not limited to):

  • Support high mix, low volume, and high reliability personal identification products.
  • Address manufacturing challenges by troubleshooting issues and providing solutions in a timely manner
  • Participate in determining and providing an optimum plan of operation, equipment, space requirements, and related facilities for assigned areas.
  • Coordinate outside repair and maintenance services for production equipment by following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures and requesting service as needed
  • Lead and help manage the production floor including equipment, employees and subcontractors
  • Provide manufacturing personnel with training and technical guidance
  • Develop and implement lean initiatives to improve operational efficiency
  • Develop metrics to drive continuous improvement of the manufacturing process
  • Develop/Review/Revise work instructions and procedures in support of manufacturing processes
  • Support internal, 3rd party and vendor audits
  • Assist in the resolution of supply chain issues impacting manufacturing as well as supplier feedback, selection and technical assistance
  • Manage resources and provide status information and feedback to internal customers and managers.
  • Represent manufacturing at design reviews, and Material Review Board (MRB) meetings
  • Support the development of new methods, processes, and equipment and apply them to the manufacturing operation.
  • May provide technical support to,and assist in determining the technical and manufacturing capability of vendors.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directs, coordinates and evaluates production personnel. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance to company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws.
  • Will interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assist, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Meets with appropriate staff on a timely basis for performance evaluations and goal setting.
  • Develops an atmosphere that encourages employee participation.
  • Motivates and counsels employees in preserving an efficient and productive workplace.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 - $155,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

 

 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement
  • Must possess proficiency with (MS Office), preferably also with MRP systems.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess working knowledge of production quality assurance procedures
  • Maintain material inventory accuracy and conduct system transactions.
  • Complete required production metrics and reports accurately and on time.
  • Conduct interviews, hire new operations staff, and provide employee orientation.
  • Establish goals, conduct feedback reviews, provide personal development advice to staff.

 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 10+ years' experience in Operations Management in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Manufacturing or Process Engineer in diverse regulated industries.
  • Proven record of analyzing manufacturing / support processes and driving continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, develop targets and action plans and lead an organization to achieve results
  • Excels at yield analysis and failure analysis leading to root cause and effective corrective actions
  • Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office products in producing data-driven reports
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively monitor operations with excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Self-starter, results driven, analytical, high sense of urgency, detail oriented with ability to logically identify alternate solutions or approaches to complex problems
  • Working knowledge ISO9001 standards
  • Working knowledge of state and federal EHS regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of management and team members.
  • Project management and negotiating skills are required.

 

Travel Requirement, Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Travel requirement, such as  

  • Occasional overnight travel as required; should not exceed 25% of the time

Working Conditions, such as: 

  • Light Manufacturing shop environment.  Exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with manufacturing equipment and tools.

Physical Demands, such as:

  • The work requires moderate physical effort with recurring lifting and/or moving of moderately heavy items in the 30-50 pound range and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds.  Requires long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities.  Requires manual dexterity and ability to manipulate small objects.  Normal range of hearing and vision required to operate machinery and forklifts.
