Position Summary
As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a Discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with a high-level independence, developing plans and related processes with department leader in alignment with broader business objectives.
Specific Job Summary
The Manager, Privacy Risk and Compliance will report to the Associate Director, Privacy Compliance and Risk Management and buildout and administer the global privacy office's privacy champion initiative and support the Privacy Risk program. Additionally, the role will be responsible for managing multiple priorities requiring a solid understanding of global privacy laws and regulations that will help drive company priorities and programs while ensuring Privacy Risk is identified, documented, and mitigated. The role ensures privacy champions maintain an awareness of federal, state, and international privacy laws and standards and applies this knowledge to MVWC business processes and systems, including Privacy risk management.
The role will strategically develop privacy awareness and training initiatives, spanning 80+ countries globally, while working with senior leaders and internal stakeholders. Additionally, this role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating Privacy Risk, globally. This includes developing metrics to proactively enhance the company's global privacy program. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading enterprise-wide privacy training, overseeing risk assessment process, and implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures, and tracking of required reporting to promote customer trust through transparency and ensuring customers' rights are upheld. As a representative of the Global Privacy Office, this position will interact with departments globally across the enterprise, working with senior leaders to ensure alignment and transparency as it relates to privacy-driven initiatives.
Expected Contributions

  • Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and/or projects. Often manages small projects, business processes or parts of larger ones.
  • Responds to, solves, and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk.

  • Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by: - Identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes. - Providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution. - Participating in setting department operating plans. - Recognizing and celebrating team successes. - Achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate.

Specific Expected Contributions
  • Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of a suitable and relevant Global Privacy / Data Protection training and awareness program, on an annual basis, while working with relevant stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Pilot the design, development, implementation, and promotion of Privacy Champions program and curriculum.
  • Advise business departments on information good practice and standards related to the organization's overall IT strategy needs, including business continuity requirements, and participate in any future information projects.
  • Coordinate on and negotiate data privacy issues with third parties. Ensure compliance with all applicable contracts.
  • Lead the organization's annual notification with the relevant regulators.
  • Administer a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and acting on all complaints concerning the organization's privacy policies and procedures in coordination and collaboration with other similar functions and, when necessary, legal counsel.
  • Perform initial and ongoing Privacy Risk assessments and conduct related ongoing compliance and risk monitoring activities in coordination with the entity's other compliance and operational assessment functions.
  • Key advisor on the development of risk treatment plans while aligning with Business risk appetite, and work with relevant Risk Control owners for implementation and ongoing treatment, as required.
  • Develop methods (processes) for metrics reporting and effectively communicate to senior leaders.
  • Develop methods (processes) and guidance as needed with emphasis on business/function specific activities and fosters the development of new policies, as necessary.
  • Monitor laws, regulations, and contracts associated with the management and control of personal and sensitive data processed within the business / function.
  • Extend privacy expertise (e.g., Privacy-by-design principles) to promote understanding and Compliance across internal businesses functions and with external stakeholders.
  • Manage emerging privacy events to resolution.

Candidate Profile
Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows:
  • Generally, a professional position with specific knowledge and experience in a discipline (e.g., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology) as well as associate management experience. College degree and/or relevant experience typically required.

Specific Candidate Profile
Required:
  • Experience in creating and deploying custom training programs.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • 4-6 years' experience working in a professional role.
  • Experience working in a regulated or compliance driven environment.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to purvey complex concepts in a simple manner.
  • Bachelor's degree or Privacy certification (e.g., CDPSE, CIPM, CIPP/E, CIPT) or Risk certification (e.g., CRISC).

Desired:
  • Bachelor's degree, Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a small team environment.
  • Privacy or security certification.
  • Risk management certification.
  • Experience working with privacy tools (e.g., OneTrust).
  • Experience working in a privacy, security, audit, IT related role.
