- Subject matter expert in core retrieval/ handling and design/ evaluation of conventional and special core analysis programs including routine core analysis, capillary pressure, relative permeability, geomechanics, formation damage, etc.
- Manage exploration and development teams in efforts to evaluate new strategic assets.
- Proactively collaborate to progress subsurface characterization of prospective intervals, develop subsurface appraisal plans, and support advanced development optimization reservoir studies, in support of corporate and departmental objectives.
- Plan, organize, and direct the execution of feasibility studies, technology evaluations, and conceptual designs as required to support client projects or initiatives.
- Lead efforts within the multidisciplinary subsurface teams, projects team, and operations personnel to ensure compliance.
- Mentor staff by providing guidance, instructions, and expert-level technical advice.
- Leadership and oversight over the annual budgeting process for operating and capital expenditures.
- Foster a positive open work environment, systems approaches, and disciplined execution of all assigned tasks.
- Conduct bids for services as required.
- Create petrophysical workflows to develop petrophysical models and integrate core data analysis.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.

- Bachelor's degree in Geophysical Sciences, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of related industry experience in Petrophysics.
- Experience working in multiple basins.
- Expert knowledge of conventional rock petrophysical workflows including calculating clay volumes, lithologies, saturations, porosities, permeabilities, flow units, etc.
- Expert knowledge of seal rock evaluation including lithologies, threshold entry pressures, clay volumetrics, fracture analyses, seal integrity, etc.
- Expert knowledge of petrophysical workflows including deterministic and multi-mineral models with the ability to critically think and appropriately apply workflows for the rock and data.
- Expert level knowledge of old log and core data reports and comfort producing petrophysical models with vintage data sets.
- Expert level knowledge and interpretation methods of advanced logging tools including NMR, Dielectric, Dipole Sonic, Image Logs, Neutron Spectroscopy, etc.
- Expert level knowledge of cased hole logs, including pulsed neutron logs, saturation logs, cement bond logs, etc..
- Expert knowledge of image logs including resistivity and acoustic with the ability to process, interpret, and integrate the logs.
- Expert level knowledge of formation testing including design of the tests and interpretation; experience running tools such as the MDT is a plus.
- Rock mechanics, fluid substitution, and pore pressure subject matter expertise is required.
- Mud Logging expertise is required.
- Experience working with a reservoir management team including geoscientists, reservoir engineers, geophysicists, operations engineers, drilling engineers, and other technical staff.
- Experience working in fields on injection such as waterfloods and steam floods; experience with CO2 floods is a plus.
- Experience with good operations and making quick decisions including recommending tool changes; experience with Thru-Bit, Shuttle, Cased Hole, and Cordax a plus.
- Experience working with vendors to design well-log programs including tool selection, placement, and operating parameters.
- Experience developing and managing budgets.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage groups comprised of professionals with varying disciplines, backgrounds, and experience levels.

- Active in the petrophysics community.
- Project management expertise and knowledge of vendors (including specialty and niche vendors) for core analysis, logging, data processing, and integration is required.
- Experience working with many different basins and lithologies a plus.
- Experience working on carbon sequestration projects.
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical staff.
