- Monitor department activities to ensure an effective use of available resources are used to meet production schedules for customer orders and inventory requirements.
- Review department production reports and resolve minor issues to ensure quality standards. Escalate major issues to the Plant Manager as needed.
- Recommend and establish department organization, including hours worked and productivity to meet volume expectations.
- Assist the Plant Manager in improving manufacturing operation procedures to increase productivity.
- Implement company wide policies, goals, objectives, and procedures in conjunction with company management.
- Develop the annual department fiscal budget. Determine labor standards and staffing levels on an ongoing basis. Review regular financial reports and follows up as necessary to control costs.
- Evaluate and recommend equipment purchases to improve departmental operations and product manufacturing.
- Make employment decisions on hiring, promotion, transfers, training and development, disciplinary action, terminations and pay adjustments; monitor performance by completing new hire and annual performance evaluations.
- Ensure that proper safety methods are used in the department as specified by Loss Prevention. Ensure team maintains an orderly and clean department.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of relevant work experience required. At least three (3) years working in a manufacturing environment and three (3) years of supervisory experience required. Master's Degree preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word. Strong leadership skills combined with the ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with people, projects and issues. Ability to listen and communicate effectively. Ability to lead people. Ability to actively engage by means of discovery, process, and/or application of new information. Demonstrate key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization and decision making.
