We are currently seeking a creative, driven individual to join Xanterra's Coporate Office team as our Manager ofVisual Merchandising and Store Design!  This role is responsible for store concept development and execution, Visual Merchandising standards and compliance, project management on large, mid-size store buildouts and retrofits, overall aesthetic and visual acuity and cohesiveness of product and fit-out presentation for store portfolio.  This position will coordinate, execute, and align activities while working closely with the Chief Opererating Officer, Senior Director of Merchandising, Engineering Teams, Property Retail Teams, and Buyers in providing strategic direction regarding the creation of innovative store environments.  To be successful at this role, you should have strong technical skills, the ablity to multitask and manage multiple timelines while building/maintaining constructive and effective relationships with key cross functional Teams as well as being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

YHow you will make a difference:

  • Creates, develops and implement visual guidelines in store branding, presentation standards and graphic programs to support merchandising themes
  • Trains, communicates, and directs field managers and staff to implement and maintain visual programs and standards
  • Experience in creating, communicating, and maintaining store floor plans optimizing the layout and the flow of merchandise to support property requirements as well as provide a cohesive shopping experience and help achieve revenue goals
  • Reviews, collaborates and approves all vendor supplied fixturing ensuring that fixtures support visual guidelines and fit within the store’s design and space constraints
  • Oversees retail capital improvements including design partner selection, design development and comprehensive budget and timeline management of retail store fit-out projects
  • Creates budgets, gathers quotes and estimates to fit project needs
  • Helps produce new business, strategic presentations, NPS presentations for maximum visual & communicative impact
  • Cultivates resource partners in design, fixturing, display supplies, maintains those relationships, and ensures that Xanterra gains “best price” status corporately
  • Manage outside design consultants, fabricators, and installers
  • Manages timeline, project status report and budget elements associated with corporate capital execution
  • Builds resources to fit sustainability and environmental corporate goals. Leads the retail group in identifying resources and idea generation to continually increase and align resources in Merchandising to fit these goals.
  • Leads project implementation for store retrofits; is present in the operation and is the key command and control manager
  • Maintains photographic library of each stores displays, footprints, architectural drawings, fixtures (including vendors), material boards, color call-outs & storyline materials for each location
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

You will work Closely with:

  • Corporate Senior Director of Merchandising in supporting merchandise & assortment strategies, analyzing sales reports and Store priorities
  • Buyers with new product introductions, Merchandising and Store floor plans, signage needs, and fixture approvals
  • Store management and field personnel on merchandising changes and product placement, new fixtures, implementing visual guidelines, promotions, graphics, signage package executions and other changes
  • Vendors on design development, pricing, and vendor supplied fixtures
  • Directors and General Managers for store remodels and seasonal store openings

Qualifications
  • College degree preferred in fashion merchandising, store planning & design
  • Strong conceptual and design development sills as well as concept sketching and rendering skills
  • Experience as a Buyer or product developer is a plus
  • Outstanding project management skills, certifications is a plus
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Previous Retail Experience as a Visual Merchandising Retail professional; multi-store experience preferred
  • Previous Retail Project Management experience, store management experience or front-line experience are all a plus
  • Experience working with Budgets
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to handle a wide array of projects varying stages and scope
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp or similar
  • Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Experience managing integrated cross-functional teams (Store Design, Visual Merchandising, engineering, production, operations, finance, etc.)

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to work varied hours and days including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

TRAVEL:  This positon will be required to travel to stores to help in seasonal set-ups and remerchandising efforts. Overall travel for this position will be about 25%, with 50% of the time  being in Spring set-up weeks.    Other travel includes: local trade and gift shows,  retail locations remodels/projects and for merchandising help, and weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extra hours as needed

COMPENSATIONThe salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $96,000.00 plus incentive.
