Job Summary:
Responsible for the Privacy and Security of the EHR/Manual health record, initiation, maintenance, and filing of resident records in the facility; ICD coding of diagnosis to meet regulatory requirements. Works closely with the Director of Nursing Services and other department heads. Receives consultation, advice, training and supervision in technical record matters from the Health Information Consultant.

Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Five years' technical experience: Preferred
- One year's leadership experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Participates in the facility Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA) Committee and process. Prepares and maintains QAA Committee Minutes. Maintain a quantitative/qualitative audit/monitoring process.
- Collects data and report findings to QAA Committee. Conducts routine monitors (admission, MDS, concurrent, acute problems/change of condition, and discharge) and performs focused reviews of problem areas, QA concerns, Quality Indicators and survey issues.
- Keeps abreast on regulations, accreditation standards, and professional standards of practice for health information in long-term care.
- Maintains current policy and procedures and job descriptions for the Health Information Department. Monitors department budget as directed.
- Exercises judgment and works independently and systematically.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
