Medical Records Clerk - Personal Injury Lawfirm

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Records Clerk. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date MEDICAL RECORDS for our patients. This is a vital position within our medical office, ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility.

Duties:
- Organize and maintain MEDICAL RECORDS in accordance with established protocols and regulations
- Review and verify the accuracy of patient information, including demographics, medical history, and test results
- Ensure the proper filing and storage of MEDICAL RECORDS, both electronically and in physical form
- Retrieve and distribute MEDICAL RECORDS as requested by healthcare providers and other authorized personnel
- Assist with the release of MEDICAL RECORDS to patients, insurance companies, and other relevant parties
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation of patient care
- Utilize medical terminology to accurately classify and code diagnoses, procedures, and treatments

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical office administration is a plus
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, including knowledge of common diagnoses, procedures, and treatments
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict privacy guidelines
