Manager - Material Planning
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Material Planning Manager to help support our growing material requirements for our compounding operations. You will leverage your problem-solving abilities, motivation, and experience to drive efficiency while scaling up our inventory planning practices and team members appropriately to support our sales. We are looking for a self-starter that will drive process improvement by building out tools and metrics to support the Material Planning team.
You Will:
Set and maintain target inventory levels for the non sellable categories based on demand and lead time variability
Create processes to streamline current Material Planning and packaging day to day activities
Work with sourcing on new materials as needed to maintain operational efficiency
Understand capacity constraints and storage requirements and provide forward looking visibility of upcoming concerns based on projected usage
Create buying recommendations for raw materials and packaging based on forward-looking production projections
Drive accountability to cross functional partners in demand planning and production planning
Articulate, document and action all risks resulting from material shortages/overages and communicate out to operations leadership
Manage and build out a team of planners appropriately as the business scales
Develop and document business requirements as necessary to support technical builds and enhancements
You Have:
Bachelors in supply chain or related
8+ years experience in at least 2 of the following: Production planning, Supply planning, Material planning
Expert in inventory management concepts with an understanding of the financial and operational implications of planning decisions
3-5 years experience in a supervisory role with at least 3 direct reports
Advanced Excel proficiency including experience with data manipulations – Lookups, PivotTables, External Data Connections
Basic SQL and/or Python experience is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner
Ability to think through complex problems and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities
Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
Demonstrated ability to organize resources and analyze alternatives to make effective decisions
