Position Overview:

The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Planning & Performanceis accountable for developing and managing robust spend & trend analytics, metrics and KPIs needed to optimize Supply Chain strategy and performance. This role will be responsible for driving operational efficiency and effectiveness through data driven continuous improvement initiatives, while assisting with the operationalizing of strategic Supply Chain initiatives. The role will collaborate with other Supply Chain Managers and Directors to assist in bridging the gap between strategy and operational procurement activities. This position will sit on the Supply Chain Leadership Team and support the development and implementation of procurement procedures, and operational metrics in the areas of P2P, sourcing planning and performance.

The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Planning & Performance has direct reporting and performance management responsibility for 3-5 employees and/or contractors, including developing and coaching various SC Managers and Contract Reps to enhance analytical capability. Accountable for developing and embedding robust process, analytics, and performance management metrics to optimize SC value creation capability.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Reports to SVP of Supply Chain for monitoring and reporting on budget trends, 1-and-5 year plans’ progress, audit findings, value contribution tracking, and other performance management reporting and trend analysis. Develops, monitors, and reports on performance metrics designed to help drive Procurement Operations delivery, identify potential gaps, and highlight opportunities to improve transactional efficiency.
  • Performs local and targeted spend analysis, identifying areas of opportunity to reduce transactional buying and implement mid-term agreements, providing savings and security of supply. Delivers Value Contribution opportunities. Reviews current buying patterns, frequency, volumes, and value of spend to identify and implement optimal buying channels, while minimizing buyer touch points.
  • Establishes and maintains measurable performance metrics for all levels of Procurement Operations, Materials Management, and Category Management activities (if applicable) to include (but not limited to) spend under management, commodity market intelligence compliance to category strategies, delivering synergies, integrations of new assets into category spend and Value Creation.
  • Leads Supply Chain policy and process review and development to establish robust guidelines, and controls to ensure visibility of spend and risk mitigation is appropriately managed by Supply Chain, for all 3rd party addressable spend.
  • Will support ad-hoc strategic request and provide context and data/analytics in support of senior level negotiations and supplier reviews or settlement disputes.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with Site Supply Chain to identify tools and support needed to improve processes and/or performance, to meet SLAs and deliver on business needs. Identifies performance gaps within each team and works with the LT to help fill those gaps, creating dashboards with leading and lagging indicators to empower proactive performance management.
  • Works closely with IT and SC Systems to optimize the use of SAP, Sourcing tools, MM, to drive best practices in the use of SAP technology and other performance management tools across the Materials Management and P2P teams across MP.
  • Ensures ongoing market analysis and leverages Supply Chain knowledge to understand and articulate market trends, which may impact internal stakeholders and category strategies.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, Supply Chain, or commercial role’s as follows (experience may overlap):
    1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing
    2. Minimum 5 years of experience supporting senior executives, working collaboratively across various business and functional areas, including multiple geographic locations.
    3. Minimum 5 years process-based industry experience, or similar preferred
    4. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operational Procurement, with understanding of P2P and overall Procurement Process – preferred.
    5. Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environment required.

Required Education/Certification/Licensure:

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) preferred.
  • Masters or MBA preferred, Procurement and Supply Chain Certification a plus.

Specialized Skills:

  • Ability to develop negotiations strategy and conduct supplier negotiations with the capability to meet targets, manage concessions and deliver results.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data for use in decision-making and actions in support of business strategy, including TCO and should cost modelling.
  • Must be a strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution.
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and analytical skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Supportive and hands-on inspirational leader, who can act independently.
  • A strong collaborator across the business, Supply Chain, and other support Functions

  • Willingness to travel as needed, less than 20% within North America.
